Veteran NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith reveals Jimmy Butler texted him after the Miami Heat won the series against the Sixers.

Game One of the ECF saw Jimmy Butler arrive at the party and lead the Heat to victory. Butler proved once again why he is a top player, stepping up when his team needed him. The Heat forward provided a 41-point spectacle, contributing to both ends of the floor.

In what many believe, Butler is the frontrunner to win the ECF MVP award, courtesy of the former MIP who always shows up when it matters. The Heat is off to a great run against the Sixers, with Jimmy Buckets filling the stats against his former team.

During the conference semifinal against his former team, Butler averaged 27.5 PPG, 7.5 RPG and 5.5 APG. The six-time All-Star shot an efficient 51.3% and had three games with 30+ points. Butler didn’t hesitate to let the Philly franchise know what they’d been missing.

The Sixers weren’t the only ones to face Butler’s wrath, with ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith recently revealing details about the Heat forward texting him.

Butler is one of the toughest guys in the NBA, making him a perfect fit for the Heat Culture. The former MIP may not be the most skilled player but has the grit and grind it takes to be at the top, with his Game One performance in the ECF being further proof of that.

Jimmy Buckets has the most games by 40 points in the current playoffs. In his three seasons so far with the Heat, Butler has played five 40-point games, all during the postseason. So with the ECF’s Heat-winning Game One, Butler had a special message for Stephen A. Smith.

The First Take analyst revealed that Butler texted him the following.

“This is a guy who texted me after they won the Philadelphia 76ers semifinal and said, ‘You and everyone else slept on me, I’ll show you what I stand for, I’mma show you what I am made of.”’

Well, with his shots that sink the net, Butler can have all the fun, especially after being in control for most of the season. The Texas native is a showtime player.
