Another product recall very popular with customers of Monoprix stores! If not Kinder, pistachios, bread with metal chips, Buitoni pizzas… This time it’s a sandwich we’ve all eaten at some point in our lives, during a quick lunch break at work. Health scandals have been legion lately. We may end up getting paranoid at the grocery store! Well, for once, this one doesn’t contain listeria, e-coli, or bits of metal. However, a labeling issue fails to state that it contains sesame, which is allergenic to a portion of the population. Next to the website Drink reminderthe government website, Monoprix stores itself started recalling the sandwich. Indeed, the presence of seeds of sesame can lead to severe allergies in intolerant consumers.

The presence of sesame is not indicated on the packaging

Since the scandals of the various recalls of food products, the French are more vigilant about their purchases in supermarkets. But no matter how careful we are, if information is missing on the labels, we can’t guess it! You can always be the unlucky one to encounter the defective product. The bun itself contains no toxic substances, just sesame seeds which can become a tragedy for some allergic people. Both adults and children can be intolerant to sesame and this can cause more or less severe reactions† Itching in the throat and palate, asthma, hives, digestive disorders. Some people even suffer from it eye swellingface and lipss, drops in voltage or even loss of consciousness. This should therefore not be taken lightly.
