Get Another Chance on the PlayStation 5 June 2 from Walmart

We’re still seeing a shortage or no supply of PlayStation 5 consoles in some places and going for weeks between new national restocks. Hopefully this coming summer will prove more fruitful, and a good (though small) sign is that Walmart has a PS5 event.

If you’re a Walmart Plus subscriber, you can queue up for a $499 standard PlayStation 5 with disc drive at 3 p.m. ET on June 2. This is another addition exclusive to paying Walmart Plus members, but since we’re notified well in advance, you’ll have plenty of time to pay the $12.95 minimum for a month’s membership prior to the drop. Yes, you get other benefits from Walmart like free deliveries, but we end up paying just to play the restock game. Remember, though, you can always cancel the subscription once you’ve landed your shiny new console.

Sony’s flagship next-gen console, which includes a disc drive, lets you play both digital and physical games for the PS4 and PS5.

As for the console landing when the day comes, you should be ready to refresh the page once the clock strikes 3:00 PM ET / 12PM PT. Feel free to try it on a desktop browser and the Walmart app on your phone at the same time, and use a site like time.is to keep a close eye on the correct time.

You will be put in a queue and just ready to hold on. Be patient and don’t leave your spot in line until the restocking event has ended, especially since Walmart often loads the stock in waves on its site. Once it’s your turn, you’ll have 10 minutes to check out with a PS5. Since you must be a Walmart Plus subscriber, your billing and shipping information should already be good.
